Lovely Lane Preschool
♦ All preschool classes are full.
♦ We remain a partner with CR Comm. School District so that our 4’s program is free to students.
♦ We are level 5 QRS; 1 classroom evaluated by ECERS—Early Childhood Rating Scale.
♦ Families participate in a holiday service project; collected items for Mercy Pediatric Unit this yr.
♦ Pastors bring Chapel Time to our students by visiting 1X a mo., sharing stories/lessons.
♦ Had our annual Open House and an academic Family Night with a Dr. Seuss theme.
♦ Classrooms perform a Christmas program and end of the year program.
♦ Lion’s Club free vision screening “KidSight” is offered free of charge.
♦ All LL staff returned to their positions; retention has been a goal of the board for several years.
Trinity Lane Preschool
♦ Four year old preschool is also a community partner with CR Community Schools; this year we expanded to an afternoon section + morning section.
♦ Cedar Rapids Library visits TL once a month and donates books to the students.
♦ Cargill sponsors a family supper with entertainment once every year.
♦ TL is also Level 5 QRS.
♦ Lion’s Club free vision screening KidSight is offered.
♦ Partnered with Lovely Lane to place students on the Christmas Angel Tree.
♦ This is our last year to house Trinity Lane in this location. BASE—
Before and After School Program
♦ Approx. 75 students are in the BASE roster; approx. 17% of those attend with Block Grant.
♦ Sets of enrichment classes are offered 3 times a year.
♦ Activities and field trips are planned for early dismissal and inservice days.
♦ A hot breakfast and snack are provided each day free of charge.
♦ Kindergarten students are walked to and from school each day.
♦ New games, toys and manipulatives are purchased each semester.
♦ Staff are required to attend 6 hrs. of program orientation & to wear staff shirts/sweatshirts.
♦ Added a new anti-bullying policy to parent handbook.
♦ CWM is fortunate to get support from Lovely Lane Church; we receive financial donations from their Father’s Day Offering, United Methodist Women, and Endowment Committee. LL members save HyVee receipts for us and we earned $1500 for our preschools.
♦ CWM helped out LL this year by replacing the carpet in the bookkeeper’s office, paying for new cove molding in the 4’s classroom and fellowship hall, paying 1/2 of the annual floor waxing costs, and purchasing 8 new items for the kitchen.
♦ LL Youth Group put out all the 280 bags of new rubber mulch for our playground.
♦ Filled our programs to capacity & expanded our TL 4’s program with an afternoon session.
♦ Added new playground equipment & rubber mulch (to be in compliance with DHS safety rules) to LL playground.
♦ Trained preschool & daycare staff in Essential Training (12 hr. required training) & did staff evals.
♦ Welcomed 5 new board members to our CWM Board.
♦ Designed and executed a successful Summer Program for our families.
♦ One classroom at each center evaluated by ECERS.
♦ Re-wrote Emergency Plans for LL and TL to meet new standards.
♦ Purchased new lockers for 4’s classroom and 3’s classroom at LL.
♦ Move TL Preschool from current location to another; look into grant for cost of move.
♦ Apply to renew Level 5 QRS Rating.
♦ Examine ways to increase enrollment in Before and After School Daycare.
♦ Use more technology apps to increase communication with families and staff.
