Lovely Lane United Methodist Church is a "city on a hill, a lamp on a stand," (Matthew 6:14-15) and we are here to reflect God's glory in our congregation, in our world, and in our hearts. Forgiven by Christ, we forgive. Accepted by God, we accept. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we equip, enable and inspire God's household to servant leadership.

In our congregation
We believe that God is constantly being revealed to us through scripture, church tradition, reason and experience.

We celebrate God's love in worship, prayer and music.

We learn how God is revealed to us in bible studies, small groups and personal relationships.

We guide God's people to help them grow spiritually, emotionally and intellectually into disciples for Christ.

We equip our members for a life of Christian growth and service, wherever life may take them.

In our world
The people of Lovely Lane UMC humbly strive to be light, love and leaven to the world.

We stand with those who are devalued in our society because of their color, gender, marital status, creed, sexual orientation, age, physical or mental ability, immigration status or economic condition.

We serve those in our neighorhood and our community who are in need of food, housing, education, or health care.

We heal the world through collaboration with the national and international missions of the United Methodist Church, because where our hands cannot be, our hearts can.

We respect and defend God's creation and act as stewards of the world's natural resources.

We invest our personal resources generously and give of our time, talents and money to become the "hands and feet of Jesus."

In our hearts
"For it is the God who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ." 2 Corinthians 4:6

Together, we pledge to reflect that light for the healing and upbuilding of our world. We will comfort and we will work. We will give our time, our money and our love. We will not judge, but welcome with open hearts, open minds and open doors.

And we will never stop trying.
