The month of July brings some exciting opportunities to Lovely Lane! Our Capital Campaign has been taking large “bites” out of our 55-year-old mortgage. I think we have a good chance to retire our mortgage by the end of the year as more and more folks accelerate their giving. Our design team is meeting with an architect preparing for the Capital Campaign’s 3rd and Final Step: The renovation of our Sanctuary, Narthex, and Fireside room.
On a more personal note, July 1st marks the completion of 10 years for Gayle and me as your pastors at Lovely Lane! It also marks my 35th year in ministry in the United Methodist Church. What a blessing and a joy it has been to know you and to work together in the name of Jesus Christ! We are both grateful to be appointed for an 11th year at Lovely Lane!
On an even more personal note, Gayle and I will be gone much of July to Washington State, where our daughter Emily will be laboring to make Grandparents of us! Please pray for her and her baby! God has such a persistent and wonderful way of moving our lives from one adventure to another. I can hardly wait to see what God will do with this new, extraordinary month, new conference year, and new decade in ministry together.
“Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God.”
– Isaiah 41:10
