“As Christians, we have important teachings about welcoming the stranger and providing hospitality. Therefore, we express our solidarity with all those refugees fleeing war and strife. Our call is to provide hospitality to strangers in the name of Christ.
As Christians, our faith tradition also teaches us, like the Good Samaritan, to care for those who are hurt by others. We recognize our common humanity and stand with our Muslim neighbors who are misunderstood and persecuted. Our call is to live peaceably with all God’s people.
In this moment in history, we renew our commitment to witness to a balanced perspective of other faith beliefs and to advocate for the most vulnerable. It is our love that binds us to others in our common humanity. Our call is to pursue justice and peace for all God’s children.”
