Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

The Lovely Lane UMC Health and Wellness Team are excited to be hosting Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) at the church. The training is provided by the Abbe Health Affiliates and is open to the public.  Class size is limited so register soon!

The MHFA programs teach community members the skills needed for identifying and responding to an adult who may be experiencing a mental health issue. This is comparable to learning first aid training for physical health, but instead will focus on mental health. This program has been developed by the National Council for Behavioral and further information can be found on their website at

When: May 4, 2019 8am-5pmTime: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Full participation all day is required for certification

Lunch: Lunch and beverages will be provided by Lovely Lane volunteers; day includes two 15 min and one 30 min break.

Cost:  Event is FREE as sponsored by the East Central Region of Faith Communities and Social Workers
